Description

Take your diesel-driven fire pump knowledge to the next level with this hands-on training focused on preventive maintenance, inspection procedures, and troubleshooting. Designed for technicians, contractors, inspectors, and facility personnel, this two-day course combines theory, observation, and practical exercises to help participants confidently maintain diesel-driven fire pump systems in accordance with NFPA codes and Clarke Fire Protection Products, Inc. requirements.
Working directly with equipment in The Lab, in partnership with Clarke Fire trainer Brian Griffin, attendees will learn how to perform required maintenance, identify common issues, document findings, and improve system reliability through effective maintenance planning.
Training Topics Include:
  • Hands-on performance of weekly, 6-month, annual, 2-year, 5-year, and as-needed maintenance testing
  • Fire pump room and system visual inspections and maintenance documentation
  • Battery, fuel, cooling system, belt, and driveshaft inspections
  • Conduct NFPA 25 visual inspections, static checks, and running check
  • Troubleshooting common diesel fire pump system issues including electric, fuel, cooling and mechanical systems
  • Long-term maintenance requirements and component replacement
  • Post-maintenance testing and verification procedures
  • NFPA 25 and Clarke Fire maintenance requirements
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of diesel engines and fire protection systems is recommended. Completion of Driven by Diesel is strongly encouraged as preparation for this advanced maintenance course.
